|
|
Updated now for MS3 and S2U 1.62
Current version (1.62) of Slide-To-Unlock now has the ability to get along great with Mobile Shell 3.0. You just need to go into the settings for S2U, and turn on the Go To Home on Unlock, and click save. Now you will always have MS3 Home Screen after you unlock. Depending on your configuration, it will go to a certain screen. It is the last screen you were on, this will be what it defaults to until you switch the screen.
To get S2U go to the Developers Homepage:
http://www.ac-s2.com/
To get the current version of Spb MS, go here:
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/mobileshell/
For users who still have not yet upgraded to Spb MS 3, don't worrry, I won't force you to upgrade, yet. .. I'll still keep you going with the Registry settings for the time being. Although, I don't know what's stopping you from getting MS3, but that's not what we are here to discuss. Right? Ok, here are the directions for users of S2U 1.62 and MS 2.x.x ONLY:
1. Install Spb Mobile Shell (2.x.x Only if you use this method) and turn off Show Now Screen on Wake-up (Under Mobile Shell Settings).
2. Install S2U 1.62
3. Import "S2U2 1.62 MS 2.x.x Friendly.reg" which is contained inside a ZIP Archive (S2U2 1.62 MS 2.x.x Friendly.zip).
4. Swipe down from the Start Menu, and select the middle Panel to go to Spb Menu.
5. Browse to S2U in Programs
6. Run ILock2
Enjoy!
To restore the settings or if you un-install Spb Mobile Shell 2.x.x, import the "S2U2 1.62 Defaults.reg" in ZIP Archive "S2U2 1.62 Defaults.zip" to reset S2U back to defaults.
Sorry for the delay in these updates, I was busy with something else... (MS3 ) ...
Thanks always for feedback!

I have discovered the problem.
I have a device with Italian language, and the key of registry for to make appear the Now Screen when it unlock the device should be changed.
The key is: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2\UnlockRunEXE
"\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Spb Mobile Shell\[Now].lnk"
The value goes changed in (for the Italian devices - no quote):
"\Windows\Start Menu\Programmi\Spb Mobile Shell\[Now].lnk"
Now it works really well!!!
Great!!!

Thanks for your update. I am glad you got it working. I will have an updated registry, for italian localized devices.
Thanks to you, users of that device can now just come here, and get there appropriate registry import. It will be up in an hour, or so.

Nice find PocketPcUser05!!!!
That always bugged me that I could not have both S2U2 and Now screen work at the same time.
Thanks!

Well since you offered
I have implemented this as you suggested; however the two programs (S2U2 and Mobile Shell) seem to fight for being "on top" every time I turn on my device. I have unchecked the box to have MS start on power on....but it will tries to be on top everytime AND it usually wins. Thoughts?
Using Memmaid, I still see an entry in the notification queue for Mobile Shell to happen on startup. Maybe it did not get cleaned up properly.....
Thanks.

Ok, here are my thoughts..
First, purchase your own copy (Of course, you can just use the trial version, to test it out), of Spb Backup 2.0 (Just released, and a great time-saving product, ); using this, create a backup of your device, and either using Spb Backup Sync, or your storage card; make sure you have your backup safely stored somewhere, off the internal memory.
Next, hard-reset, and only install Mobile Shell; now, un-select the Show Now On Wake-up, and then proceed to install the S2U. and make sure, you are installing version 1.0.2 or newer.
Next, just import that registry, with any registry editor, such as the powerful Resco Explorer. After it completes, close out the running programs, and turn off your screen. Wait a few seconds, and then turn on your device, and soft-reset. Now, when the device loads, completely; you just turn off your screen, and turn it back on. Now, you should see the S2U show up; after you unlock that, you then should be taken very very briefly to the Today Screen, then the Now Screen.
Let me know, how that goes for you.

@PocketPcUser05
Already own Backup 2.0 Great software!
I narrowed down the symptom. I did try an uninstall/reinstall, but that did not work.
So, if I have my standard today screen showing when I power off, when I power on, it works great (S2U2, then NOW screen). If I have NOW screen showing when I power off, it flashes back and forth between S2U2 and NOW, and NOW usually wins.
This sort of makes some sense, since NOW was up when I powered off, but they really fight for the top position when I turn on. Maybe there is a way to auto-close NOW when I power off....hmmmm.
I can try the route you mentioned, I just hate to have to do hard reset if I can avoid it.
Thanks again for the help.

Hey,
Thanks for your efforts.
So, let me just say this:
I can not reproduce that problem. When Now Screen is shown, and I turn on/off the device, S2U has consistently won, now 7 out of 7 times in a row. Can you confirm the following:
1. Does this happen after a soft-reset, and you press the soft-key for Now; you then turn off/on the device, and what shows up? Repeat 4 times.
2. What is your device/Model/OS/ROM Version Information?
3. What version of S2U are you using?
4. Are any programs in the background, runnning: i.e. did you not close any programs, before turning off your device?
5. Are you connected to a Data/Bluetooth/Wifi when this happens; or does this even happen when you are in flight mode?
6. Can you do the following:
Import the other registry that I provided, and then import the same one that enables the Now Screen; does it still happen?
7. Can you turn on, then off, the setting to show Now Screen? See if it still happens.
I might think on this a few days, and get back with you. So far, these are all that I can come up with; the best way to see if this is device related, is to hard-reset after you have that backup, and install only Mobile Shell, and S2U.

For me, the NOW screen wins everytime. When I turn back on, I see screens flash in this order: S2U2, NOW, S2U2, NOW.
2. What is your device/Model/OS/ROM Version Information?
AT&T Tilt (aka Kaiser), WM6.1, early release (aka not official, but not cooked) ROM from xda-developers. I may have to go back to my stock WM 6.0 ROM and see if that fixes it. I am not in love with this WM 6.1 stuff anyway...it even seems slower
3. What version of S2U are you using? Currently 1.03, but soon to be 1.05
4. Are any programs in the background, runnning: i.e. did you not close any programs, before turning off your device? Not after the Soft Reset...probably just ActiveSync, which does use Push based email from Exchange
5. Are you connected to a Data/Bluetooth/Wifi when this happens; or does this even happen when you are in flight mode? Tried with no bluetooth, still happened. Tried in Flight Mode, still happened. NOTE: Using PhoneSuite 1.3
6. Can you do the following:
Import the other registry that I provided, and then import the same one that enables the Now Screen; does it still happen? Yes
7. Can you turn on, then off, the setting to show Now Screen? See if it still happens. Yes, still happens

So it looks like I will do the Hard Reset thing anyway to get back to my old ROM. Then I will test only Mobile Shell and S2u2. I will let you know what I find. Thanks again man!

UPDATE:
IT WORKS!!!!
Flashed back to my stock WM 6 ATT ROM.
Installed Mobile Shell. Installed S2U2 1.05. Imported Registry key.
Works every time!
Must have been some odd conflict or corrupt settings I acquired over time...or just the WM 6.1 ROM. Either way, works great now!
Thanks for the help PocketPCUser05!

UPDATE #2:
OK, so I HAD it working every time. Then I reinstalled all my apps using the Sashimi Auto-Installer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392983) which is a very cool app...but now it does the same thing again. Bummer. So it must be some other app conflicting.
I will try to uninstall 1 at a time and see if that works. If not, I will need to do a Hard Reset and install them one at a time.
